I started the 14-week weight loss program at HorizonView in January 2023. Honestly, I wasn’t very hopeful because, as with most people who struggle with weight loss, I have tried every diet from Keto to Weight Watchers without much success. I had been trying to lose weight for years, and every doctor I had asked for help said the same thing—eat less and move more (as if I hadn’t already thought of that).
When I came to HorizonView and saw Ericka, I instantly felt heard for the first time. Before long, I started my 14-week journey. I was determined that I would work hard in every aspect of the program and take advantage of all the tools offered to me. As part of the 14 weeks, I worked with the providers, nutritionists, and behavioral health counselors, absorbing all of their knowledge as well as the advice and suggestions they gave.
By truly working the program, I have changed in so many ways. I’ve been able to increase my boundaries in a way that is healthy for me. I’ve learned that taking time for myself isn’t selfish—it is necessary, and I’ve learned that food can be enjoyed without being used as comfort or punishment. I have lost over 50 pounds and I feel amazing. Most importantly, I have used the tools that HorizonView has taught me to gain self-confidence and the motivation that I needed to be the best version of myself for myself and my family.
